The first thing you have to do is clear the majority of the Licorice Swirls and it’s best if you focus on the Licorice Swirls on the left first since you need those out of the way if you wan to hit the Icing and Cake Bomb with special candies.
Once the Licorice Swirls are gone not only will you have more space to make special candies in, the effects of special candies won’t be blocked as well. With candies of five colors on the playing field you shouldn’t have too many problems making special candies. It’s worth holding on to special candies until you can combine them because of the combination’s enhanced effect.
If you get the opportunity either clear the Icing before you detonate the Cake Bomb or at least hit them three times (this will reduce to single-layered Icing). If you detonate the Cake Bomb with the Icing gone or with single-layered Icing the explosion will remove everything and move the Ingredients all the way to the bottom. Doing this isn’t essential as you can see in the video above, but it will make it easier to collect the Ingredients.
Match candies near the bottom of the playing field (or as low as possible) as often as you can. Doing this will shift the largest amount of candies and hopefully start a chain reaction that will create new opportunities to make special candies.
